Indications:
Allergic conjunctivitis
Seasonal or perennial eye allergy
Itching, redness, and watering of eyes due to allergens
Pharmacology:
Zepatid contains Olopatadine, a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist with mast cell stabilizing properties. It works by blocking histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms in the eyes.
Dosage:
Usually 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily
Dosage should be adjusted as per physician’s advice
Administration:
For ophthalmic use only
Wash hands before use
Tilt head back, apply drop without touching the tip to eye
Avoid contact lenses for at least 10 minutes after use
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions when used topically in the eyes
Avoid using other eye drops within 5 minutes of this medication
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Olopatadine or any component of the formulation
Side Effects:
Common:
Mild eye irritation or burning
Blurred vision immediately after instillation
Rare:
Eye dryness
Headache
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed
Caution advised during lactation as systemic absorption is minimal but possible
Precautions & Warnings:
For external use only
Do not touch the dropper tip to avoid contamination
Discontinue if irritation persists or worsens
