Description
Camlor 8 mg Tablet, manufactured by Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd., contains 8 mg of lornoxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class. It is used for the short-term relief of acute mild to moderate pain and for the symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Lornoxicam works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to a reduction in the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain. The typical dosage for acute pain is 8–16 mg daily, divided into 2 or 3 doses, not exceeding 16 mg per day. For osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, the initial recommended dose is 12 mg daily, divided into 2 or 3 doses, with a maintenance dose not exceeding 16 mg daily. Camlor 8 mg Tablet is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to lornoxicam, peptic ulcer, severe hepatic or renal impairment, and during the third trimester of pregnancy. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, and abdominal pain. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or asthma.
