Indications:
Orbidex T Eye Drops are indicated for:

  • Treatment of external bacterial eye infections with inflammation

  • Conditions such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, and keratitis

  • Post-operative eye infections

  • Prevention of infection after eye injuries

Pharmacology:

  • Dexamethasone: A corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators in ocular tissues.

  • Tobramycin: An aminoglycoside antibiotic that interferes with bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, effective against a wide range of gram-negative and some gram-positive organisms.

Dosage:

  • 1–2 drops should be instilled in the affected eye(s) every 4 to 6 hours.

  • In severe cases, it may be used more frequently as directed by a physician.

Administration:

  • For ophthalmic use only

  • Shake well before use

  • Wash hands thoroughly before application

  • Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface or to the eye

Interaction:

  • Avoid concurrent use of other eye medications unless prescribed

  • Caution when used with systemic aminoglycosides due to possible additive toxicity

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to tobramycin, dexamethasone, or any component of the formulation

  • Viral, fungal, or mycobacterial eye infections

  • Untreated purulent eye conditions

Side Effects:
Common side effects may include:

  • Eye irritation

  • Blurred vision

  • Increased intraocular pressure with prolonged use

  • Risk of cataracts or secondary infections with long-term use

Pregnancy & Lactation:

  • Do not wear contact lenses during treatment

  • Monitor intraocular pressure with long-term use
