RANOCOR ER 500 MG is used for the treatment of hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) and for the prevention of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke. It is effective in lowering LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol levels.
Pharmacology:
RANOCOR contains Atorvastatin, a statin drug. It works by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a key role in the production of cholesterol in the liver. By reducing cholesterol production, RANOCOR helps lower LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol and triglyceride levels, while increasing HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol.
