Nabumax 500 mg Tablet contains nabumetone, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Nabumetone works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, substances in the body that mediate inflammation and pain. The recommended starting dose is 500 mg taken once daily, which may be increased to 1,000 mg per day depending on the patient's response and tolerance. It is advised to take Nabumax with or after food to minimize potential gastrointestinal discomfort. Common side effects include gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhea, constipation, and nausea, as well as dizziness and headache. Serious side effects, though rare, may include gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, and allergic reactions. Patients should avoid alcohol consumption while taking Nabumax due to an increased risk of stomach bleeding. Regular monitoring of kidney and liver function is recommended during long-term use.
