Description

• রেজিস্টার্ড চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মোতাবেক ঔষধ সেবন করুন।

Indications:

VASOCOR 5 MG is primarily used to treat:

  • Hypertension (high blood pressure): It helps lower blood pressure, reducing the risk of complications such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage.

  • Angina (chest pain): VASOCOR 5 MG is effective in treating chest pain caused by insufficient oxygen supply to the heart.

  • Heart conditions: This medication can be prescribed for regulating heart rhythm and managing other cardiovascular conditions.

Pharmacology:

VASOCOR 5 MG contains Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. It works by inhibiting the entry of calcium ions into the muscle cells of the heart and blood vessels. By relaxing and widening the blood vessels, it reduces the heart’s workload, lowers blood pressure, and improves blood flow to the heart. This makes it useful in managing both high blood pressure and angina.

Dosage:

  • For hypertension, the typical starting dose is 5 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 10 mg per day, depending on the patient’s response.

  • For angina, the usual dose is 5 mg to 10 mg once daily.
Follow your doctor’s instructions for precise dosage adjustments.

Administration:

  • Take VASOCOR 5 MG orally, with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

  • It is best to take the medication at the same time every day for consistency.

  • Do not chew or crush the tablet, as this may alter its effectiveness.

Interaction:

  • Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice, as it may increase the level of Amlodipine in your blood and increase the risk of side effects.

  • Other antihypertensive drugs, such as ACE inhibitors or beta-blockers, may potentiate the blood pressure-lowering effect of VASOCOR.

  • Be cautious when taking CYP3A4 inhibitors (like ketoconazole or erythromycin), as they may increase the concentration of Amlodipine in the blood.
Always inform your healthcare provider of any other medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs.

Contraindications:

  • Severe low blood pressure (hypotension): VASOCOR should not be used in individuals with significantly low blood pressure.

  • Hypersensitivity: Do not take if allergic to Amlodipine or any of its components.

  • Severe liver disease: Caution should be used in patients with liver problems, and dose adjustments may be necessary.
