ZEPATID 2.5 ML is used in the treatment of severe infections caused by susceptible bacteria. These include respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and other serious bacterial infections. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial growth, helping the body to fight infection.
Pharmacology:
ZEPATID 2.5 ML contains Piperacillin-Tazobactam, a combination of two antibiotics: Piperacillin, a penicillin-type drug that kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis, and Tazobactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects Piperacillin from bacterial enzymes. This combination extends the spectrum of activity to include a wider range of bacteria, making it effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including resistant strains.
Dosage:

For adults with moderate to severe infections, the typical dose is 2.25 to 4.5 grams every 6 to 8 hours depending on the infection severity and doctor's prescription.
