ROSU 40 MG is indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) and dyslipidemia (abnormal fat levels in the blood). It is used to reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. This medication is also prescribed to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, and angina, especially in individuals at high risk for heart disease.
Pharmacology:
ROSU 40 MG contains Rosuvastatin, a potent statin that inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase in the liver, which is responsible for producing cholesterol. By reducing cholesterol production, Rosuvastatin lowers the level of LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides, while raising HDL (good cholesterol). This helps to prevent the buildup of plaque in blood vessels and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, heart attacks, and strokes.
Dosage:
The usual starting dose for ROSU 40 MG is 40 mg once daily. Depending on the patient’s cholesterol levels and their response to treatment, the dosage may be adjusted. The maximum recommended dose is 40 mg per day. Always follow the dosage prescribed by your healthcare provider.
Administration:
ROSU 40 MG should be taken orally with or without food. It is typically taken once a day, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet.
