LOTONOL T 0.5% + 0.3% Ophthalmic Suspension is an eye drop formulation that combines Loteprednol Etabonate, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, and Tobramycin, an antibiotic that combats bacterial infections. This combination is particularly useful in treating various inflammatory eye conditions where there is a risk of bacterial infection. The corticosteroid component works by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing swelling and discomfort. The antibiotic component acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, effectively combating bacterial infections. The standard dosage involves instilling one drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) every four to six hours. During the initial 24 to 48 hours, the dosing may be increased to every one to two hours. Patients are advised to follow the prescribed dosage and consult their healthcare provider if symptoms persist or worsen.
