TROPIDIL PLUS 5 ML is primarily indicated for:
Pupil Dilation: Used in preparation for eye examinations and surgeries by dilating the pupil.
Eye Redness and Irritation: Relieves eye redness and discomfort caused by various conditions like inflammation or irritation.
Ophthalmic Procedures: It is commonly used before diagnostic procedures or surgeries to facilitate proper examination of the inner eye structures.
This medication helps reduce discomfort in the eyes and provides necessary dilation for certain medical or diagnostic interventions.
TROPIDIL PLUS 5 ML contains a combination of Tropicamide and Phenylephrine:
Tropicamide: A mydriatic (pupil dilating) agent that works by relaxing the muscles in the eye, allowing the pupil to expand for eye exams or surgeries.
Phenylephrine: A sympathomimetic drug that constricts blood vessels in the eye, reducing redness and improving the clarity of the pupil for better examination.
The combination works to both dilate the pupil and reduce any irritation or redness, providing optimal conditions for diagnostic or therapeutic eye care.
For Pupil Dilation: Place 1 to 2 drops of TROPIDIL PLUS 5 ML in the affected eye 15 to 30 minutes before the eye examination or procedure.
For Eye Redness or Irritation: Follow the dosage prescribed by the doctor. Typically, 1 to 2 drops in each eye can be used up to 3 times a day, based on the condition and response.
Always follow the doctor’s instructions regarding the dosage and frequency.
Wash your hands before using the drops.
Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
Place the prescribed number of drops into the pocket without allowing the dropper to touch the eye or any other surface.
After instilling the drops, close your eyes gently and press the corner of the eye near the nose to reduce drainage.
If instructed to use in both eyes, repeat for the second eye.
TROPIDIL PLUS 5 ML has minimal systemic absorption but may interact with certain other ophthalmic or systemic medications.
Other eye medications should be used with caution when combined with TROPIDIL PLUS.
Beta-blockers and other sympathomimetics may enhance or alter the effects of Phenylephrine. Always inform your healthcare provider of all current medications you are using.
Hypersensitivity to Tropicamide, Phenylephrine, or any component of the product.
Narrow-angle glaucoma or other conditions associated with increased intraocular pressure.
Eye infections: Do not use if there is an active eye infection unless prescribed by your doctor.
