Pharmacology:
Cefixime is a third-generation semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. It exhibits bactericidal activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Cefixime is highly stable in the presence of beta-lactamase enzymes, making it effective against organisms resistant to penicillins and some cephalosporins. Absorption is approximately 40% to 50%, irrespective of food intake.

Adults and Children over 12 years:
200–400 mg daily, administered as a single dose or in two divided doses.
