Description
Linamet 2.5/850 Tablet is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg of Linagliptin and 850 mg of Metformin Hydrochloride twice daily with meals. The maximum recommended dose is 2.5 mg of Linagliptin and 1000 mg of Metformin Hydrochloride twice daily. Dosage should be individualized based on effectiveness and tolerability. This combination therapy is contraindicated in patients with renal impairment, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, or hypersensitivity to either component. Common side effects may include nasopharyngitis and diarrhea. Hypoglycemia is more common in patients treated with Linamet and sulfonylureas. It is important to monitor renal function regularly and to adjust the dosage as necessary.
