Description
BENOZOL BR OPHTHALMIC 5 ML is an eye drop solution used primarily to treat increased intraocular pressure in conditions like open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. This medication contains two active ingredients: Brinzolamide (1%) and Brimonidine Tartrate (0.2%). Brinzolamide works as a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, reducing the production of aqueous humor in the eye, thereby lowering eye pressure. Brimonidine, an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist, also helps reduce eye pressure by decreasing aqueous humor production and increasing its outflow. This combination effectively controls eye pressure, reducing the risk of optic nerve damage and vision loss. It is typically used once or twice a day, and patients are advised to wait at least five minutes between administering different eye medications.
