Description
Esonix M 20 mg is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) medication that contains esomeprazole magnesium. It is formulated using MUPS (Multiple-Unit Pellet System) technology, which enhances the drug’s bioavailability and ensures consistent release in the gastrointestinal tract. Esonix M 20 is primarily used to reduce the production of stomach acid and is effective in the treatment of acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and erosive esophagitis. It is also used in combination therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori infections and to prevent gastric ulcers associated with NSAID use.
This formulation is designed for once-daily oral administration, typically taken on an empty stomach before meals. The tablet must be swallowed whole and should not be crushed or chewed. Esonix M 20 mg is well-tolerated in most patients, with common side effects including headache, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea.
