Description
Tropex 18 mcg is a long-acting anticholinergic bronchodilator manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Each dry powder inhalation capsule contains 18 micrograms of Tiotropium, a muscarinic receptor antagonist. Tiotropium selectively inhibits M3 receptors in the bronchial smooth muscle, leading to prolonged bronchodilation. This effect helps alleviate symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, coughing, and chest tightness associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Tropex is designed for once-daily use, with one capsule inhaled per day using a compatible inhaler device. The medication is not intended for acute relief of bronchospasm and should not be used as a rescue inhaler. Common side effects may include dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, urinary retention, and increased heart rate. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to atropine or its derivatives should avoid using Tropex. The recommended dosage is one 18 mcg capsule inhaled once daily. Tropex should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat, and kept out of reach of children.
