Indications:
Lozicum is indicated for the treatment of epilepsy (seizures), panic disorder, and certain anxiety conditions.
Pharmacology:
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, producing a calming effect.
Dosage & Administration:
Dosage varies; typically started at a low dose and gradually increased based on patient response. Taken orally, usually 1-3 times daily.
Interaction:
May interact with other CNS depressants, alcohol, and certain anticonvulsants.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines, severe liver disease, or acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, and impaired coordination. Risk of dependence with prolonged use.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution advised during breastfeeding.
