Nyclobate Shampoo 60 ml is a potent topical corticosteroid formulation containing 0.05% Clobetasol Propionate, designed for the treatment of various inflammatory scalp conditions. Manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., this shampoo is indicated for managing recalcitrant corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses of the scalp, including psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis. Clobetasol Propionate exhibits anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties, working by inhibiting multiple inflammatory pathways, reducing cytokine production, and suppressing immune responses. The recommended usage involves applying the shampoo once daily to the dry scalp, focusing on affected areas, gently massaging it in, leaving it in place for 15 minutes before lathering and rinsing. Treatment should be limited to four consecutive weeks, with a maximum weekly dose not exceeding 50 grams. This preparation is not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age. Potential side effects include skin thinning, irritation, and, with prolonged use, systemic absorption leading to features of hypercortisolism. Nyclobate Shampoo is contraindicated in individuals with scalp infections, hypersensitivity to the preparation, and is not recommended for children under one year of age.
