Description
Vaxitet 0.5 mL is a tetanus toxoid vaccine, formulated to provide active immunization against tetanus (lockjaw), a serious bacterial infection caused by Clostridium tetani. Each 0.5 mL dose contains inactivated tetanus toxin (toxoid) that stimulates the body’s immune system to develop protection (antibodies) against the tetanus bacteria. The vaccine is typically administered intramuscularly, often in the deltoid muscle, and is used for both primary immunization and booster doses. Vaxitet is commonly used in children as part of the DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis) series and in adults as a booster every 10 years, or after injury when tetanus risk is high. It plays a crucial role in preventing a potentially fatal disease that causes severe muscle stiffness and spasms.
