Indications:
LINATAB M is indicated for:
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus
Improving glycemic control when diet, exercise, and monotherapy are insufficient
Pharmacology:
Metformin: Decreases hepatic glucose production and increases insulin sensitivity.
Linagliptin: A DPP-4 inhibitor that enhances incretin hormone levels, increasing insulin release and decreasing glucagon secretion.
Dosage & Administration:
Typically, one tablet taken once or twice daily with meals.
Dosage adjusted based on patient response and tolerance.
Interaction:
Possible interactions with other antidiabetics, ACE inhibitors, diuretics.
Caution with drugs affecting renal function.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Metformin or Linagliptin
Severe renal impairment
Diabetic ketoacidosis
Side Effects:
Gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, diarrhea)
Hypoglycemia (especially with other antidiabetics)
Rare: pancreatitis, hypersensitivity reactions
Pregnancy & Lactation:
