Indications:
Omidon is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, chronic stable angina, and vasospastic angina.
Pharmacology:
Omidon contains Amlodipine, a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium ion influx in vascular smooth muscle and myocardium, resulting in vasodilation and decreased blood pressure.
Dosage & Administration:
Typical dose: 5-10 mg once daily.
Dose may be adjusted according to clinical response.
Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:
May interact with CYP3A4 inhibitors, other antihypertensive drugs, and beta-blockers. Monitor for hypotension.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Amlodipine or any component of the formulation. Use cautiously in severe hypotension or aortic stenosis.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, dizziness, peripheral edema, flushing, and fatigue.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Unknown if excreted in breast milk; caution advised.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor blood pressure regularly. Use with caution in patients with severe liver impairment or heart failure.
