Description
Tofacent XR 11 mg Tablet is an extended-release formulation of Tofacitinib, developed by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh. Tofacitinib is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that modulates the immune system to reduce inflammation associated with autoimmune diseases. This medication is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to methotrexate. It may be used as monotherapy or in combination with methotrexate or other nonbiologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). Tofacent XR 11 mg Tablet is also indicated for the treatment of adult patients with active psoriatic arthritis and moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis. The extended-release formulation allows for once-daily dosing, improving patient compliance. The recommended dosage is 11 mg once daily, with or without food. The tablet should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed. Common side effects may include upper respiratory tract infections, headache, diarrhea, and nasopharyngitis.
