Telmidip 80/5 mg Tablet is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive medication manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh. It contains 80 mg of Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and 5 mg of Amlodipine Besilate, a calcium channel blocker (CCB). This combination effectively lowers high blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and reducing the heart's workload. Telmidip is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents. It may also be used as initial therapy in patients who are likely to need multiple drugs to achieve their blood pressure goals. The usual starting dose is 40/5 mg once daily, with the possibility of increasing to 80/5 mg once daily based on individual response. Common side effects include dizziness, peripheral edema, headache, and fatigue. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation, during pregnancy (especially in the second and third trimesters), and in those with severe hepatic impairment or biliary obstructive disorders.
