Indications:
Telmidip is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, especially in patients requiring combination therapy to achieve blood pressure control and reduce cardiovascular risk.
Pharmacology:
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that inhibits vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, leading to vasodilation and lowered blood pressure.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes vascular smooth muscle, reducing peripheral resistance and blood pressure.
The combination works synergistically to provide better antihypertensive effects.
Dosage & Administration:
Recommended dose: One tablet once daily, with or without food.
Dose adjustments may be necessary based on clinical response and tolerance.
Swallow tablet whole; do not crush or chew.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensives, diuretics, NSAIDs, lithium, and potassium supplements. Monitor for hypotension and electrolyte imbalance.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, Amlodipine, or any component

Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, edema, flushing, and fatigue. Rarely, hypotension, palpitations, or allergic reactions.
