Indications:
ZOLIUM is indicated for:

Generalized anxiety disorder
-
Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia
-
Short-term relief of anxiety symptoms
Pharmacology:
Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that potentiates the effect of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, producing anxiolytic, sedative, muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant effects.
Dosage & Administration:
-
Adults: Usually 0.25 to 0.5 mg three times daily; dosage adjusted according to response.

Use lowest effective dose for shortest duration possible.
-
Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
Interaction:

Additive CNS depressant effects with alcohol, opioids, and other sedatives.

Caution with other psychotropic medications.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Alprazolam or benzodiazepines
-
Acute narrow-angle glaucoma
-
Severe respiratory insufficiency
Side Effects:

Drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness

Memory impairment, confusion

Risk of dependence and withdrawal symptoms
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless clearly necessary under medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings:

Avoid driving or operating machinery until effects are known

Monitor for signs of abuse or misuse
