Description
Spotclen 4% Cream is a topical depigmenting agent manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing Hydroquinone 4%. It is indicated for the gradual lightening of hyperpigmented skin conditions such as chloasma, melasma, freckles, senile lentigines, and other areas of excessive melanin production. Hydroquinone works by inhibiting the enzymatic oxidation of tyrosine to 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine, thereby suppressing melanocyte metabolic processes and reducing melanin synthesis. The recommended dosage is to apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area once daily, at least 30 minutes before bedtime. Patients should cleanse and dry the skin before application and avoid contact with the eyes. During the day, it is advised to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 and wear protective clothing to prevent further pigmentation. Common side effects may include erythema, dryness, burning, stinging, and itching at the application site. Spotclen is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to hydroquinone or any of the cream's components.
