Description
Rocovas 10 mg Tablet is a lipid-lowering medication manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Its active ingredient, Rosuvastatin, is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the enzyme responsible for converting 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor of cholesterol. By inhibiting this enzyme, Rosuvastatin effectively reduces the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver, leading to decreased levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total cholesterol, and triglycerides, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels.
