Description
Topirva 25 mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing Topiramate as the active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of epilepsy and the prevention of migraines. In epilepsy, Topirva is used as monotherapy for adults and children aged 6 years and above with newly diagnosed epilepsy, including generalized tonic-clonic seizures and partial seizures with or without secondary generalization. It is also used as adjunctive therapy for individuals over 2 years of age who have not achieved adequate control with conventional first-line antiepileptic drugs. In migraine prevention, Topirva is used in adults to reduce the frequency of migraine attacks. The exact mechanism of action is not fully understood, but Topirva is believed to modulate brain activity through effects on sodium channels, GABA-A receptors, and glutamate receptors.
