Timozin 50 mg Tablet is an antispasmodic medication manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing Tiemonium Methylsulphate 50 mg as the active ingredient. It functions as a quaternary ammonium antimuscarinic agent, exhibiting peripheral effects similar to atropine. Tiemonium Methylsulphate acts by antagonizing acetylcholine and histamine receptors, thereby stabilizing calcium binding with membrane phospholipids and proteins, which inhibits intracellular contractile proteins in visceral cells, leading to reduced muscle spasms and associated pain. This medication is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system, as well as for the treatment of spasms and pain in urological and gynecological conditions. The usual adult dosage is 2 to 6 tablets daily, administered in divided doses. Common side effects may include hypotension and tachycardia. Timozin should be used under medical supervision, and its use is contraindicated in patients with urethroprostatic disorders involving a risk of urine retention and in those with a risk of angle-closure glaucoma. Caution is advised in patients with prostate disorders, chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, renal and hepatic insufficiency, and during conditions of ambient hyperthermia. The medication should be stored in a dry place, away from light and heat, and out of reach of children
