Description
Telmipres 20 mg Tablet is an antihypertensive medication manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing 20 mg of Telmisartan as its active ingredient. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by selectively blocking the AT1 receptor, inhibiting the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II. This leads to vasodilation, reduced blood pressure, and decreased workload on the heart. Telmipres is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults and for the reduction of cardiovascular morbidity in adults with atherothrombotic cardiovascular disease or type 2 diabetes mellitus with documented target organ damage. The usual starting dose is 40 mg once daily, with a dose range of 20 to 80 mg per day. Common side effects include sinusitis, back pain, and diarrhea. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Telmisartan or any of its components.
