OMIDON 60 ml Oral Suspension is a medication containing domperidone maleate, produced by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Each 5 ml of this whitish, lemon-flavored suspension provides 5 mg of domperidone, designed to alleviate symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and indigestion. Domperidone works by blocking dopamine receptors in the stomach and the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the brain, enhancing gastric motility and facilitating the movement of food through the stomach and intestines. This action helps to relieve discomfort associated with delayed gastric emptying and acid reflux.
The typical dosage for adults is 10–20 mg (10–20 ml) taken 15–30 minutes before meals, up to a maximum of 80 mg (80 ml) per day. For children, the dosage is adjusted based on body weight, and it is crucial to follow the pediatrician's instructions precisely.
