Description
Ulticort 15 gm Cream is a topical corticosteroid manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing Halobetasol Propionate 0.05% as its active ingredient. Halobetasol is classified as a super-high potency corticosteroid, indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. These conditions include psoriasis, eczema, and contact dermatitis. The cream works by reducing inflammation, itching, and redness associated with these skin conditions. Due to its potency, treatment with Ulticort should be limited to two consecutive weeks, and the total dosage should not exceed 50 gm per week to minimize the risk of systemic absorption and potential side effects. Common side effects may include burning, itching, dryness, and folliculitis. Patients should be monitored for signs of skin atrophy or other adverse reactions during treatment.
