Description
Nispore 200 mg is an antifungal medication containing fluconazole, a synthetic triazole compound that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption compromises the integrity of the fungal cell membrane, leading to cell death. Nispore is effective against a broad spectrum of fungal pathogens and is commonly prescribed for conditions such as vaginal candidiasis, oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, systemic candidiasis, cryptococcal meningitis, and various dermatophyte infections like tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and onychomycosis. The 200 mg capsule is often used as a single-dose treatment, particularly for vaginal candidiasis. Fluconazole is well-absorbed orally, with bioavailability unaffected by food intake, and is primarily excreted unchanged in the urine. While generally well-tolerated, potential side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort, rash, and, in rare cases, liver enzyme abnormalities. Dosage adjustments may be necessary for patients with renal impairment. As with all medications, Nispore should be used under the guidance of a healthcare professional, especially in individuals with underlying health conditions or those taking concurrent medications.
