Description
Ticarel 60 mg Tablet, manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., contains 60 mg of Ticagrelor as its active ingredient. Ticagrelor is a selective adenosine diphosphate (ADP) receptor antagonist that reversibly inhibits the P2Y₁₂ receptor on platelets, preventing ADP-mediated platelet activation and aggregation. This mechanism reduces the risk of thrombotic events such as myocardial infarction and stroke in patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). The recommended treatment regimen begins with a 180 mg loading dose (two 90 mg tablets), followed by a maintenance dose of 90 mg twice daily, co-administered with aspirin (75–100 mg daily). Treatment duration is typically up to 12 months unless otherwise indicated. Ticarel 60 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. Common side effects include bleeding, dyspnea, and elevated uric acid levels. It is contraindicated in patients with active bleeding, severe hepatic impairment, or those taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors.
