Description
Xenogrow 5% Scalp Solution is a topical medication manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing Minoxidil 5%. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of androgenic alopecia (male and female pattern hair loss), specifically targeting hair loss on the top of the scalp (vertex). Minoxidil works by stimulating hair growth through several mechanisms: enhancing blood flow to hair follicles, promoting the transition of hair follicles from the resting (telogen) phase to the growth (anagen) phase, and increasing the size of hair follicles, leading to thicker hair strands.
The recommended dosage is 1 mL (7 sprays) applied directly to the affected area of the scalp twice daily, with a total daily dose not exceeding 2 mL. For optimal results, the solution should be allowed to remain on the scalp for about 4 hours before washing. It is essential to apply the solution to a clean, dry scalp and avoid massaging it in. Consistent use for at least 4 months may be required before visible evidence of hair growth is observed. Discontinuation of the treatment may result in the loss of newly grown hair within a few months.
