Indications:
OSARTIL PLUS is indicated for:
-
Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
-
Patients requiring combination therapy to achieve blood pressure targets
Pharmacology:
-
Losartan: An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.
-
Hydrochlorothiazide: A thiazide diuretic that reduces fluid volume by increasing urine output, aiding blood pressure reduction.
Dosage & Administration:
-
Usually 1 tablet once daily, with or without food

Dosage may be adjusted according to patient response and tolerability
Interaction:
-
May interact with potassium supplements, NSAIDs, lithium, other antihypertensives

Monitor potassium and kidney function during treatment
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Losartan, Hydrochlorothiazide, or related compounds

Severe renal or hepatic impairment

Pregnancy and lactation
Side Effects:

Dizziness, headache, increased urination

Electrolyte imbalance (hypokalemia or hyperkalemia)

Rare: Allergic reactions, dehydration, hypotension
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Contraindicated during pregnancy

Use only if clearly needed during lactation under medical supervision
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly
