Description
Rupex 60 ml Syrup, manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., is an oral antihistamine containing Rupatadine Fumarate as its active ingredient. Rupatadine is a second-generation, non-sedating antihistamine that functions as a selective antagonist at histamine H1 receptors and also inhibits platelet-activating factor (PAF). This dual mechanism of action provides effective relief from allergic symptoms. Rupex Syrup is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and idiopathic urticaria. The recommended dosage for children aged 2 to 11 years is based on body weight:

Children weighing 25 kg or more: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) once daily with or without food.

Children weighing 10 kg to less than 25 kg: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoonful) once daily with or without food.
Rupex Syrup is generally well-tolerated, with common side effects including somnolence, headache, and fatigue. It should be used with caution in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, and its use is not recommended in children under 2 years of age.
