Indications:
ALBEN DS 400MG Tablet is indicated for:

Treating intestinal worm infections such as roundworm, hookworm, and whipworm.

Managing systemic parasitic conditions like hydatid disease and neurocysticercosis.
Pharmacology:
Albendazole inhibits microtubule formation in parasites by binding to tubulin, impairing their ability to absorb glucose and depleting their energy stores, resulting in parasite death.
Dosage and Administration:

Dosage:

Adults and children (above 2 years): 400 mg as a single dose.

Systemic parasitic infections: Dosage depends on body weight and severity, to be determined by a physician.

Administration:

Take the tablet orally with water, preferably after meals.

Do not crush or chew unless instructed.

Interaction:

Increased Albendazole plasma levels may occur with concurrent use of cimetidine, dexamethasone, or praziquantel.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Albendazole or similar compounds.

Avoid during the first trimester of pregnancy.
Side Effects:

Common: Mild abdominal pain, nausea, dizziness, headache.

Rare: Hepatotoxicity, pancytopenia, or severe allergic reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
