GLIKAZID 80MG Tablet is indicated for:
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: To improve glycemic control in patients whose blood sugar levels are not adequately controlled by diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications.
Gliclazide is a second-generation sulfonylurea that stimulates pancreatic beta cells to release insulin. It enhances peripheral tissue sensitivity to insulin, reducing blood glucose levels effectively.

The initial dose is typically 40-80mg daily, which may be adjusted based on glycemic response up to a maximum of 320mg daily.
Administration:
Take orally with water, preferably during breakfast or the first main meal.
Increased Hypoglycemic Risk: With alcohol, beta-blockers, or other antidiabetic agents.
Decreased Effectiveness: With corticosteroids, diuretics, or oral contraceptives.
Hypersensitivity to Gliclazide or other sulfonylureas.
Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Severe renal or hepatic impairment.
Common: Hypoglycemia, nausea, headache, and dizziness.
Rare: Allergic skin reactions, gastrointestinal disturbances, or liver enzyme abnormalities.
Pregnancy: Not recommended. Insulin is preferred for managing diabetes during pregnancy.
