Indications:
KILMAX 250MG Tablet is indicated for the treatment of:

Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis).

Skin and soft tissue infections.
-
Helicobacter pylori eradication in peptic ulcer disease (as part of combination therapy).
-
Otitis media (middle ear infection).
Pharmacology:
Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, effectively stopping bacterial growth.
Dosage:

Adults: 250 mg twice daily or as directed by the physician.

Children: Dosage is determined based on body weight.
Administration:
Take orally, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Interaction:

May interact with drugs metabolized by the CYP3A4 enzyme (e.g., statins, benzodiazepines).

Can increase the levels of certain drugs like warfarin or digoxin.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to clarithromycin or other macrolides.

Concomitant use with drugs that can cause QT prolongation or severe liver dysfunction.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, taste disturbances, and abdominal pain. Rare but serious effects include liver dysfunction, severe allergic reactions, and QT prolongation.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
