Indications:
XINC 20 MG is indicated for the treatment and prevention of zinc deficiency and as an adjunct therapy in acute and persistent diarrhea, especially in children. It is also used to support immune health and recovery from infections.
Pharmacology:
XINC 20 MG contains Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate providing 20 mg of elemental zinc. Zinc is an essential trace element involved in numerous enzyme systems, supporting growth, immunity, wound healing, and gastrointestinal health. In diarrhea, zinc shortens the duration and reduces recurrence.
Dosage:
Children 6 months–5 years: 1 tablet (20 mg) once daily for 10–14 days
Children over 5 years & adults: As directed by the physician
Administration:
Tablet should be taken orally with or after food. Can be chewed or dissolved in a small amount of water for easier intake by children.
Interaction:
Zinc may interfere with the absorption of antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines, quinolones) and iron supplements. A gap of at least 2 hours is recommended between doses.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to zinc sulfate or any inactive ingredient in the formulation.
Side Effects:
May include nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, or metallic taste. These are usually mild and temporary.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Safe in recommended doses. Use under medical supervision during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Prolonged use may lead to copper deficiency. Ensure appropriate monitoring during long-term use.
