Indications:
Ostocal GX is indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and vitamin D deficiencies, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and bone weakness due to aging, pregnancy, or menopause.
Pharmacology:
Calcium Carbonate (1500mg) provides elemental calcium which is vital for bone strength and normal physiological functions. Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol 400IU) enhances calcium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and maintains serum calcium levels.
Dosage:
1 tablet daily or as directed by the registered physician. Dosage may vary depending on the patient's condition.
Administration:
Administer orally with water, preferably after meals to enhance absorption.
Interaction:
May reduce absorption of certain antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones). Thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of hypercalcemia. Avoid taking with high-dose iron supplements simultaneously.

Side Effects:
Mild gastrointestinal symptoms like constipation, bloating, or nausea may occur. Prolonged use may lead to hypercalcemia or kidney stone formation.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding if used as per physician’s advice. Dosage should not exceed recommended dietary intake.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor serum calcium and vitamin D levels in patients with long-term use. Caution in patients with kidney disease or sarcoidosis.
