Indications
Indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, acute anxiety episodes, and related conditions by calming excessive neural activity.
Pharmacology
EMAZID contains Diazepam, a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter, leading to a calming effect on the brain and nervous system.
Dosage and Administration

Adult Dose: Typically 5-10mg, taken 2-3 times daily based on severity and patient response.

Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Administration: Take with or without food, with a glass of water. Avoid alcohol consumption.
Interaction

Avoid with CNS depressants (e.g., alcohol, opioids) as they may enhance sedative effects.

Interactions may occur with certain antidepressants, antihistamines, and antifungal medications.
Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Diazepam or any benzodiazepine.

Patients with severe respiratory insufficiency or myasthenia gravis.
Side Effects

Common: Drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, muscle weakness.

Pregnancy & Lactation
