Indications:
RIDIVA 5 MG is indicated for treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other psychotic conditions.
Pharmacology:
Contains Risperidone, an atypical antipsychotic that works by modulating dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain to reduce psychotic symptoms.
Dosage:
Usually started at 1-2 mg per day and adjusted up to 5 mg or more as per physician’s guidance.
Administration:
Taken orally once or twice daily with or without food as directed by the doctor.
Interaction:
May interact with CNS depressants, antihypertensives, lithium, and other psychotropic drugs. Inform your doctor about all medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to risperidone or any component, severe CNS depression, and patients with history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include dizziness, weight gain, drowsiness, extrapyramidal symptoms, and increased prolactin levels.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed. Consult physician before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor for extrapyramidal symptoms, metabolic changes, and signs of tardive dyskinesia. Use caution in elderly patients.
