ETHINOR 5MG is indicated for:
Treatment of menstrual irregularities such as amenorrhea or dysmenorrhea.
Management of endometriosis symptoms.
Control of abnormal uterine bleeding.
Hormonal therapy for specific gynecological conditions as prescribed by a physician.
The active ingredient, Norethisterone, is a synthetic progestogen that mimics the effects of the natural hormone progesterone. It helps regulate the menstrual cycle and reduces abnormal uterine bleeding by stabilizing the endometrium.
Menstrual Disorders: 5mg taken orally once or twice daily, as prescribed.
Endometriosis: 5mg taken two or three times daily for 4-6 months.
Administration: Take with or without food, at the same time each day.
May interact with liver enzyme inducers like rifampin or carbamazepine, reducing its effectiveness.
Concomitant use with other hormonal medications may require dose adjustment.
Avoid excessive alcohol consumption during therapy.
Known hypersensitivity to Norethisterone or any of its components.
History of thromboembolic disorders or stroke.
Severe liver disease or undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
Pregnancy: Not to be used during pregnancy.
Common: Nausea, headache, breast tenderness, mood swings.
Rare: Venous thromboembolism, jaundice, or visual disturbances.
Pregnancy: Contraindicated; may harm the fetus.
Lactation: Use with caution; consult a physician before use.
Use cautiously in patients with a history of cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, or hypertension.
Regular monitoring is advised for long-term therapy.
Discontinue use if thrombotic events or severe adverse effects occur.
