Indications:
Solvit-M is indicated for the treatment and/or prevention of vitamin and mineral deficiencies associated with:
Restricted diets
Improper food intake
Alcoholism
Decreased absorption
Increased requirements due to acute and chronic diseases
Pregnancy and lactation
Menopause
Infections
During treatment with antibiotics
Convalescence
Pharmacology:
Solvit-M is a balanced combination of multivitamins and multiminerals in appropriate and required amounts to adequately replenish vitamin and mineral deficiency and to maintain the proper growth and resistance of the body against diseases.
Dosage:
Adults: One tablet daily or as directed by the physician.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Interaction:
Iron and zinc may chelate with tetracyclines, impairing absorption of all three agents.
Vitamin B6 may reduce the efficacy of levodopa unless a dopa decarboxylase inhibitor is also administered.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.
Not intended for treatment of severe specific deficiencies of vitamins or minerals.
Not recommended for patients undergoing treatment with levodopa without a dopa decarboxylase inhibitor.
Side Effects:
Generally well-tolerated.
Iron may cause gastrointestinal intolerance in some patients.
Rarely, allergic reactions may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
During the first trimester of pregnancy, the recommended daily dose should not be exceeded, as larger doses of vitamin A may be teratogenic.
Safe to use during lactation when taken as directed.
Precautions & Warnings:
Not intended for the treatment of pernicious anemia or other megaloblastic anemia where vitamin B12 is deficient.
Use with caution in patients with renal failure or those prone to recurrent renal calculi.
