Indications:
KEFUCLAV 500MG Tablet is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis).

  • Severe skin and soft tissue infections.

  • Complicated urinary tract infections.

  • Sinusitis, otitis media, and other bacterial infections.

Pharmacology:
Cefuroxime is a broad-spectrum second-generation cephalosporin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in bacterial cell death. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing bacterial resistance and enhancing the antibiotic's effectiveness.

Dosage:

  • Adults: One 500 mg tablet twice daily or as directed by the physician.

  • Adjustments may be necessary based on infection severity and patient condition.

Administration:
Take orally with or after food to ensure optimal absorption and minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Interaction:

  • May interact with anticoagulants, increasing bleeding risk.

  • Efficacy may decrease if taken with antacids or proton pump inhibitors.

Contraindications:
