Long Description:
Indications:
Olmesta Plus 20/12.5 is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, especially in patients requiring combination therapy for better blood pressure control.
Pharmacology:
Contains Olmesartan medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic. The combination relaxes blood vessels and reduces fluid retention, lowering blood pressure.
Dosage:
One tablet once daily or as directed by the physician.
Administration:
Oral administration with or without food, preferably at the same time every day.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, NSAIDs, lithium, and diabetic medications. Always inform your doctor of all medicines taken.
Contraindications:
Not recommended in patients allergic to Olmesartan or Hydrochlorothiazide, during pregnancy, or in severe kidney/liver impairment without medical supervision.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include dizziness, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, increased urination, fatigue, and headache.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a healthcare provider.
Precautions & Warnings:
Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes is recommended. Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease.
