Indications:
Fever reduction in children
Relief of mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, sore throat, muscle aches, and post-immunization fever
Pharmacology:
Paracetamol acts centrally to reduce fever and relieve pain by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the brain. It does not possess significant anti-inflammatory effects and is generally well-tolerated.
Dosage & Administration:
Dosage is weight and age-dependent
Typical dose: 10–15 mg/kg every 4–6 hours as needed
Do not exceed 5 doses per 24 hours
Shake well before use; use a proper measuring device
Interaction:
Increased risk of liver toxicity with alcohol or other paracetamol-containing medicines
Possible interaction with warfarin (increased anticoagulant effect)
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to paracetamol
Severe hepatic impairment
Side Effects:
Rare allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling
Overdose can cause severe liver damage
Occasional nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Generally considered safe for use in children; for pregnancy and lactation, paracetamol is regarded as safe under medical supervision.

Consult a doctor if fever lasts more than 3 days
