Indications:
SENSIT 50 is indicated for the treatment of:
Various types of anxiety
Depression
Apathy
Psychogenic depression
Depressive neuroses
Masked depression
Menopausal depression
Depression and dysphoria in alcoholics and drug addicts
Pharmacology:
SENSIT 50 combines two well-known and well-proven compounds:
Flupentixol: A neuroleptic with anxiolytic and antidepressant properties at low doses.
Melitracen: A bipolar thymoleptic with activating properties at low doses.
Together, they produce an antidepressant, anxiolytic, and activating effect.
Dosage:
Adults: Typically, 2 tablets daily (morning and noon). In severe cases, the morning dose may be increased to 2 tablets.
Elderly patients: 1 tablet in the morning.
Long-term treatment: Usually, 1 tablet in the morning.
In cases of insomnia or severe restlessness, additional treatment with a sedative in the acute phase is recommended.
Administration:
Administer orally. It is advisable to take the medication at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in the body.
Interaction:
Flupentixol and Melitracen may enhance the effects of alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants.
Concomitant use with MAO inhibitors may cause hypertensive crises.
Neuroleptics and thymoleptics may enhance the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline.
Contraindications:
Immediate recovery period after myocardial infarction.
Bundle branch conduction disorders.
Untreated narrow-angle glaucoma.
Acute alcohol, barbiturate, and opioid intoxications.
Use of MAO inhibitors within the last two weeks.
Not indicated for agitated or overactive patients, as its activating effect may exacerbate these conditions.
Side Effects:
At recommended doses, side effects are rare. Possible transient restlessness and insomnia may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Generally, SENSIT 50 should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation unless deemed necessary by a physician.
Precautions & Warnings:
If the patient has been previously treated with sedative tranquilizers, these should be gradually withdrawn.
Monitor for signs of mood changes or suicidal thoughts.
