Indications:
Vitamax D 40000 IU is indicated for the treatment of severe Vitamin D3 deficiency, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, and conditions requiring rapid replenishment of Vitamin D.
Pharmacology:
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is a fat-soluble vitamin vital for calcium and phosphorus homeostasis. It enhances intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate, essential for healthy bones and teeth. High doses rapidly restore deficient Vitamin D levels.
Dosage:
Usually one capsule weekly or as advised by a physician, depending on the severity of deficiency.
Not for daily use unless specifically prescribed.
Administration:
To be taken orally, preferably with food to enhance absorption.
Interaction:
Potential interactions with thiazide diuretics, digoxin, corticosteroids, and antiepileptics. Avoid concomitant use with other high-dose Vitamin D products.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, hypersensitivity to cholecalciferol, and severe renal impairment.
